Join us for a hands-on cooking experience in the professional kitchen of an expert local chef’s beautiful Tuscan home – and pick up Italian pasta home-cooking skills that will ‘wow’ your friends back home! The day will start with your small group visiting Florence’s authentic and captivating Oltrarno neighborhood. Together with your chef, you will walk the streets buying the ingredients from small, family-run shops and market stalls. After picking herbs from the rooftop terrace you will put on your aprons, roll up your sleeves, and begin preparing your feast. The experience will end with a giant family style lunch amongst your new friends, with lots of perfectly paired wine, ensuring a lively afternoon. Good to know
The price includes all 6 food tastings, and an always entertaining and personable English speaking guide. You’ll also receive our Food Lovers’ Guide to Rome: a printed guide full of insider’s tips about where to eat in the Italian capital, as well as details about each of our tour stops.
Transportation to and from the food tour is not included, and we are unable to arrange this for you. Detailed information for how to arrive to the meeting point will be provided at time of booking. At the end of the food tour, our guides are always more than happy to call a taxi for you or point you in the right direction.
WHAT TO BRING
Please bring a bottle of water or you can purchase one at the meeting point. While the area is flat, we recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes and if rain is forecast, bring an umbrella.
The food tour takes place in the neighborhood of Oltrarno which is well connected by public transport. Exact meeting address and detailed directions are provided with your booking confirmation. The class starts in Piazza Santo Spirito, which is around a 10 minute walk from the Ponte Vecchio on the other side of the river.
The class runs Monday, Thursday and Saturday except for Italian National Holidays and some weeks in August – see Calendar for available dates. Cancellations made 2 weeks prior to the scheduled tour date are fully refundable. Our food tours run regardless of weather conditions – rain, hail or shine!
